ESL officially comes to South East Asia

ESL (Electronic Sports League) one of the biggest platform for online gaming is proud to announce its opening a section dedicated to the South East Asia Region.

The global games industry overtook the music industry in 2008, and is expected to bypass the film industry in the coming years. It is estimated that there are hundreds of millions of hardcore gamers around the world. Most gamers are between 12 to 25 years old and spend over 17 hours a week in games.

The world's most popular games attract tens of millions of players on a daily basis, and the "pro" gamers, who play for hours every day, participate in hundreds of tournaments and events held around the globe every year. In some countries such as China, Sweden and South Korea, the governments recognize gaming as a real sport, and are actively working to advance this issue. E-Sports is the No. 2 sport in Sweden in terms of popularity.

ESL is an international e-sports league, actively running leagues and tournaments in over 35 countries. The organization works in cooperation with sports associations and government agencies, and organizes prestigious tournaments throughout the year.

The Electronic Sports League (ESL) is a world leading league for gamers all around the world consisting of more than 2,9 million registered members and more than 710,00 registered teams. ESL is operated by the company Turtle Entertainment GmbH since 2000 and offers more than 3,500 professional leagues and amateur ladders from a variety of games. More than 12,000 matches per day are being played worldwide using the ESL technology. The ESL website currently reaches above 1,6 million unique visitors a month and more than 1,000 people register every day.

Our goal is to strengthen the South East Asia Community by providing a dedicated home to host various tournaments and leagues.
More will be announced soon regarding the first famous game and the league attached to it..
