Gamers, rejoice! The time has finally come for PlayStation Network (PSN) to go online once again. Sony has made an announcement that they are kicking off the network’s restoration process in Japan and Asian countries such as Malaysia starting today, May 28.
For starters, users will be able to access several PSN services such as online gameplay for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable, Friends functionality and PlayStation Home. In addition to that, PSN users that have been with the service before 24 April will also receive a special Welcome Back pack in the form of a free Dokodemo Issyo custom theme as well as four free games [two for PS3 and two for PSP - thanks Nathan for pointing it out] from the list below:
PSN users will also receive a 30 days PlayStation Plus subscription while existing subscribers will receive extra subscription extension according to the days of the outage. Not enough with that, PlayStation Home fans will also receive something from Sony although the details have not yet been revealed. However, PlayStation Store will still be offline for this phase of restoration.
